This is the unanimous declaration of one American, whose opinion is no more or less valid than any other. I speak only for myself. While I am inspired by our original Declaration of Independence, I do not pretend to be the intellectual equal of our founders. I humbly seek the wisdom of better minds than my own and am guided by their knowledge and insight.
When in the course of human events it becomes necessary for a two-party representative government system, dominated since the Civil War by the Democratic and Republican parties, to recognize that one party has ceased to act in the best interests of the existing constitution, government, the American people and our long-standing allies, a decent respect to the opinions of the majority of Americans requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to call for a correction to this party.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that at the time when this declaration was first made in 1776 it called for equality among men of European descent. Now, in the year 2025, we recognize that humankind includes more than one gender and many diverse national and ethnic backgrounds, and that all these people have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
To secure these rights, Governments are instituted among humankind in all its diversity, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.
Whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to trust the evidence of their senses and be honest in their assessment of this destruction, and to work for a better government—a more perfect Union—laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.
Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes. Our government, while flawed, was stable for many decades. It worked, slowly and with steps backward for each step forward, toward providing equal rights for groups of people who had, through no fault of their own, previously been pushed to the margins of society. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to at the very least be honest in their assessment of wtf is going on in the United States.
Such has been the patient sufferance of American voters; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to view honestly the seeming ease with which one faction of one dominant party, their stated goal to make America great again, has sewn terror and chaos, meanwhile undermining the other dominant party’s ability to exercise any of the safeguards of democracy originally put in place in our Constitution, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.

He has pardoned insurgents who overtook our national capital on January 6, 2021. These rioters caused hundreds of injuries, including the deaths of Capitol police, and millions of dollars worth of damage at taxpayer expense.
He has dismantled multiple government agencies, demanded that they remove information from their websites, and told their employees they will lose their jobs. He has encouraged other employees to leave their jobs and promised they will be compensated if they do so, with no mechanism to ensure said compensation. These actions have been overturned in court but not before extensive damage is done.
His party controls both houses of the legislature and has a supportive relationship with the supreme court. He could have effected these organizational changes by allowing Congress to introduce a bill, debate it, pass it, and send it on to the President for his signature. Instead, he has permitted an unelected billionaire who contributed millions to his campaign to have free rein over all these programs, including access to sensitive Social Security data.
This unelected billionaire is the head of a hastily thrown-together government pseudo-agency known as DOGE. The president has issued an executive order calling for an operative from DOGE to be assigned to every federal agency, where that operative will be in charge of all hiring and firing.

- The Department of Health and Human Services—including the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH)

- FAA
- FBI
- SSA

- Consumer Financial Protection Bureau
- National Archives and Records Administration
He has fired independent inspectors general, who were charged with preventing and detecting fraud, waste, abuse, misconduct, and mismanagement in the government and promoting economy, efficiency, and effectiveness in government operations and programs.
He has fired the director of the Office of Government Ethics and the head of the Office of Special Counsel.
He has threatened tariffs and trade wars against our largest trading partners and closest allies, then rapidly withdrawn his threats, causing drastic domestic economic swings and harming international relations.
He and his vice president have intentionally tried (and failed) to embarrass our ally, the president of Ukraine, who endured their juvenile taunts with the grace and maturity of a true commander-in-chief. They engaged in ceasefire negotiations with Russia, the aggressor in the war against Ukraine. The U.S. delegation to the United Nations voted against a resolution condemning Russia for its aggression in Ukraine and calling for it to end its occupation.
He has threatened to annex Canada and Greenland, and seize the Panama Canal. He has suggested turning Gaza into a tourist resort.
He has deported legal residents of the U.S., accusing them with no evidence of gang membership and crimes.
This president has been impeached twice. He was convicted of 34 felony counts before taking office. He has faced multiple allegations of sexual misconduct. In return for lenience in his own criminal investigations, this president has shielded the mayor of the largest city in the U.S. from charges of wire fraud, campaign finance offenses, and bribery.
He has appointed people to his cabinet who are untrustworthy, incompetent, and unqualified. His defense secretary shared battle plans in a group chat with a journalist.
He has shown no inclination toward respectful debate with those who disagree with him, and no humility regarding his responsibility as one of the most powerful men in the world.
The unelected billionaire who appears to be running our country has made comments that appear to be sympathetic to the Nazi Party. He owns a large social media platform, which he uses to spread his political views. He has received billions of dollars in government contracts. He has failed to provide evidence of the efficiency his agency is supposed to create.
In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. We come from many backgrounds and hold many differing points of view, but we stand together to work toward a government that serves all Americans, including the most vulnerable. We use the methods that make the most sense for us: we peacefully protest, we march, we boycott. We use legal recourse to right injustice. We look to the outstanding civil rights work of the past with gratitude and use it to guide our current efforts.
It is this patchwork of different people, working together for a common goal, which has seen us through difficult times in the past. My hope in writing this is that we will once again use our individual strengths to see each other through our current time of chaos and strife, and overcome the efforts of a few to gain control over all of us.
